Stumbled into the social sector by chance and it’s where I realised that I’m drawn to work grounded in people, purpose, and community. Since then, I’ve embraced opportunities that have challenged me and helped me grow — from volunteer management, researching on placemaking, to working on funding and resource allocation. Each experience has helped me expand my perspective, improve my skills, and stay committed to making a positive impact.
• Managed a fund which provides funding to support social service programmes. Key responsibilities include forecasting and managing the budget, ensuring proper accounting and reporting for the use of funds, supporting fund reviews, etc. • Led the full lifecycle of agreements by collaborating with government and public agencies on drafting, execution, and compliance monitoring.
• Conducted an extensive landscape scan of placemaking in Singapore. • Engaged with diverse stakeholders e.g. community groups, IHLs, and government agencies to ensure comprehensive understanding of placemaking. • Synthesized research findings to deliver strategic recommendations on how Tote Board can value-add to this space.
• Supported the planning of engagement events and publicity efforts for new Volunteer Management products e.g. Volunteer Role Redesign Guide. • Conducted research on current state of Volunteer Management practices in the sector. • Collated resources e.g. overseas and local VM practices, to be incorporated into the Volunteer Management Maturity Matrix. • Researched and synthesised findings of capability development efforts by other government agencies to curate recommendations for strategic planning. • Engaged stakeholders to work towards achieving funding deliverables.
• Performed monthly wellbeing checks on volunteers to ensure sustenance and assisted with inquiries. • Co-organised and emceed a gathering in Mandarin to appreciate senior volunteers’ service. • Facilitated a smooth transition to new Eldercare Model by preparing collaterals to reach out to various stakeholders.
• Administrated volunteer recruitment, from profile screening to coordinating with respective departments to assess volunteer suitability. • Executed marketing and publicity of various programmes by producing collaterals and sending out email blasts. • Organised a Virtual Open House of new Training Centre for volunteers and general public.
