About

I am a final-year Biological Science (Honors) student at Nanyang Technological University, driven by a deep passion for understanding molecular mechanisms and translating biological data into impactful solutions. I thrive at the unique intersection of wet-lab experimentation and computational analysis, believing that the future of biotechnology relies on mastering both. My academic and practical journey has allowed me to develop a versatile, dual-lens approach to life sciences: 🔬 Passionate Wet-Lab Researcher: > I find immense fulfilment in hands-on discovery. I have successfully driven projects involving genetic screening, cell culture, bioimaging, and mitochondrial isolation. I enjoy the meticulous process of experimental design—from engineering binary vector constructs (pBIN-AloeGGT) for plant metabolic engineering to proposing CRISPR/Cas9 editing workflows for epigenetic regulation. 💻 Data & Bioinformatics Analyst: > To complement my laboratory work, I have built a strong computational toolkit. I am highly enthusiastic about unlocking patterns in complex biological datasets, with practical experience building RNA-seq pipelines (Kallisto/DESeq2), programming in Python and R, and utilizing machine learning for predictive analysis. 🏭 Quality & Industry-Minded: > My internship at Thermo Fisher Scientific taught me how to channel my scientific passion into highly regulated environments, managing quality control data workflows under strict ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance standards. I am deeply committed to pushing the boundaries of biotechnology and molecular biology. Let’s connect to discuss how we can bridge rigorous laboratory research with advanced data insights!

Experience

  • Quality Control Intern at Thermo Fisher Scientific
    Jan 2025 - Jun 2025 · 6 mos

Joined the Quality Control Department to support product reliability and laboratory optimization. Responsibilities were split between evaluating GeneChip microarray product data for failure analysis and driving lab digitalization. I co-led a paperless QC reporting project—ensuring total alignment with ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 11, and ALCOA principles—and built Excel VBA macros to automate manual data workflows. Through rotations in IQC, IPQC, and QA, I developed a comprehensive understanding of strict compliance and data documentation controls within a world-class life sciences manufacturing environment.
