Hello! I'm a second year Molecular, Cell Developmental Biology student at UC Santa Cruz. I have a growing passion for understanding diseases at the cellular level and applying that knowledge to real patient care. I am always excited to become involved in any opportunities that would enhance my skillset in cell biology, tumor immunology, cancer biology, and how molecular mechanisms can translate into better diagnostics and treatments. I’m actively exploring opportunities that allow me to grow in both clinical and research settings as I shape my path in medicine. So please feel free to reach out to me about anything via [email protected]
Conduct undergraduate research in the Shaowei Chen Lab, focusing on nanomaterials, electrochemistry, and surface chemistry for applications in energy conversion and catalysis.
Awarded UCSC Science Division Seed Funding to lead a 3-year independent research project on health disparities in Santa Cruz communities Investigating how geographic and income divides affect access to healthcare, mental health, and environmental resources using GIS mapping, surveys, and interviews.
Observed clinical and surgical care under the supervision of a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center. Gained exposure to outpatient clinics and operative cases, including reconstructive and hand surgery procedures, while learning about patient evaluation, surgical planning, and perioperative care.
Observed anesthesiologists in surgical and perioperative settings to gain insight into patient care and medical decision-making Learned about anesthesia protocols, patient monitoring, and safety standards in the operating room Gained exposure to interdisciplinary collaboration between anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nursing staff
Support licensed estheticians, nurses, and providers with daily treatments and patient care Prepare and sanitize treatment rooms and equipment to ensure a safe, clean environment Assist with client check-in, scheduling, and maintaining a positive patient experience
