Starting off with process and production experience in the chemical industry, I moved from an E&P chemist role and multiple team lead positions in operations and wells into a consulting and caoching role as principal production chemist supporting KOC production and WRFM activities as well as coaching KOC staff. In my current role as Chapter Lead for Production Technology and Chemistry, back in NL, my drive is to enable team members to maximise NAM's WRFM activities in a safe and responsible manner while also supporting the crucial D&R activities that are a significant portion of the NAM portfolio. Having set up the process chemistry team for the Kashagan field in Kazakhstan, leading the Well Fluids Team in Shell's NL OU (NAM) to a new and improved level of delivery and performance through integration with the contractors into the Wells community brought me many insights and an excellent combination of technical work combined with caring for people. Working in Kuwait, as the Principal Production Chemist supporting both Operations and WRFM activities in KOC's Northern Conventional Oil Fields, a mature and massive water-flooded field. Transferring knowledge and coaching is a significant part of the job next to the technical challenges there are in these major fields. Experiences: Chemical applications in oil and gas industry, as well surface as subsurface related. Drilling fluids and Cementing in Well Design and Operations. (Chemical) Well interventions including acid stimulations. Process engineering tools, thermodynamics, scale modeling, hydrate inhibition, operational flow assurance. Contract management, project management, cultural diversity and challenges, leading and coaching teams of technical professionals. LEAN, performance monitoring, strategy implementation for teams.
With the clear focus on NAM’s onshore assets I will be contributing and supporting to maximise the WRFM input from my team to maximise low CO2 footprint natural gas production in the Netherlands.
Supporting Kuwait Oil Company in the Northern Conventional Oil Fields. Providing technical and operational solutions to KOC and coaching KOC staff under the Technical Service Agreement between Shell and KOC.
The Well Fluids team in Shell's Dutch OU, NAM, is responsible for all drilling fluids and cementing activities in The Netherlands and the Southern North Sea (NL & UK). I was Technical Authority (TA-2) for Fluids and Cement and contract holder for the drilling fluids and cementing services contracts in NAM. I have worked on improved delivery and performance by integrating the Shell staff with the contractor engineers as one team. Moreover, a clear and strong position in the Wells community by direct engagement with the Wells leadership further contributed to accomplishing this. As team lead I was a member of the Production Chemistry Leadership Team, as well as contribute to the Wells Delivery Leadership Team.
