Lead installation analysis scope of work for subsea Oil & Gas field development • Prepare and validate installation analysis basis of design with project manager and client • Prepare CTRs, plan and schedule analyses • Manage installation analysis engineer team (up to 10 engineers): assign and follow work, provide advice, develop skills, report constructive feedback to supervisor, … • Ensure work is performed as per standards • Ensure on-time delivery of analysis and reports • Interface with all the stakeholders: project engineering team, client and contractors for technical matters, other design disciplines (e.g. structural design, pipeline design, …), operational teams in office and onboard installation vessels • Consolidate methodologies, develop standard analysis procedures • Share and develop knowledge in the department, provide feedback and lessons learned • Provide installation feasibility studies and advice for tenders and FEEDs (Mad Dog II, Golfinho, Pecan, Vito, …) Projects: Delta House (LLOG), Odd Job Deepwater (DGE), Amethyst (Stone Energy), Kaombo (Total)
Perform installation analysis for subsea Oil & Gas field development as per client specifications and industry standards (API, DNV, …): single wall and PIP rigid pipelines, concrete coated pipelines, flexible pipelines, PLET, ILS, umbilicals, UTA/SUTA, rigid / flexible jumpers, spools, concrete mattress, stress joint, flex joint, … • Strength & fatigue analysis for carbon steel pipelines • Welding ECAs, buckling checks, on-bottom stability, concrete crushing analyses • Spooling / transpooling analysis • Lift analysis (barge lift, splash zone, resonance, landing), structure up-ending analysis • Riser installation analysis to FPU, SPARs, jackets • Pipelaying analysis: Reel lay, S-Lay, J-Lay • Define and validate installation procedures • Determine installation weather windows • Ensure installation loading are within vessel capacity • Optimize calculation with Python & VBA programming Assist during offshore operations • Weather monitoring and installation analysis with on-site weather • Interface with captain and operation managers for go-no go assessment & decision • SCADA monitoring, control, and analysis • Management of change, task plans, risk assessment JRA, MTO control and handling, rigging design and preparation, check list preparations & visual inspections • Client management • 120 days offshore on Deep Blue vessel in the GOM and Angola Non-exhaustive project list: Hadrian South (ExxonMobil), Lucius Risers (Anadarko), Julia (ExxonMobil), Noble Alen (Noble Energy)
Research & Development about an epoxy resin Araldite (thermoset material) used in flexible pipelines end-fittings • Determine mechanical / thermo-mechanical properties through lab tests (tensile, compressive, compressive in confined space at different temperatures) • Characterize thermoset curing reaction and model reticulation kinetic law of the Araldite using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) for further modeling of injection and curing process of the resin using FEA, e.g. Abaqus software • Find origin and mitigate end-fittings fabrication defaults found in the epoxy resin through studying of the injection and curing process of the Araldite using lean 6 sigma methodology, including full scale test campaign on specifically designed simplified end fittings • Provide recommendations for new end-fittings design • Provide recommendations and specifications for new resin design • Author patent WO 2014173874, “Method for producing a connection end piece of a flexible pipe and related end piece” • Author patent WO 2015097246, “Connecting end piece of a flexible conduit, and associated flexible conduit and method”
