The Siemens NDE Council is the focal point within Siemens to identify, communicate, coordinate, evaluate, and recommend the optimum use of nondestructive evaluation processes, equipment, qualifications, personnel and development activities, and to support the corporation in exerting influence globally on its business. This mission will be accomplished by the commitment of each member and their organizations to provide expertise, time, and open exchange of information in the form of persons who are responsible to each other in the NDE Council and to the global needs, growth and profitability of the corporation. The Chairman is the elected emissary of the NDE Council and responsible for planning, organizing, and presiding over NDE Council meetings.

Ludwig-Maximilans-University, Quantum Optic Group of Prof. Hänsch, Munich, Germany • Set-up an optical experiment to measure the state (a superposition of two atomic magnetic quantum numbers) of a single atom in an arbitrary measurement basis by a state selective transport (STIRAP) and a detection of the hyperfine state • Simulated the state selective transfer to get the optimal parameters • Based on this setup it was possible to show for the first time the entanglement of a single photon (polarization) and a single atom (atomic magnetic quantum number)
