I am an experienced EHS Director of various industrial and commercial projects. I have experience in overseeing the safety program of our own company as well as working with other contractors that assist us to complete our projects safely. Strong experience in concrete superstructures, structural retrofits, site works, cranes, and confined spaces.
I manage the safety for various civil projects in New York City for the MTA, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Long Island Railroad, Metro North Railroad and the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority.
This was a 1.6 million square ft. industrial construction project. It included 12 structures all of which were either concrete superstructure or steel erection. I was able to help over 9,000 individuals work safely with this project and others. My duties included: Provide direct supervision of the site safety representatives. Teach 29 CFR 1926 OSHA 10 and 30 classes. Ensure conformance with regulatory standards. Train others regarding Hazard Communication, Confined Spaces and High Angle climbing. Coordinate site audits and document the results. Coordinate follow-through on all incident investigations including near misses and injuries. Perform confined space entrant/attendant/supervisor evaluations. Coordinate severe weather weather monitoring & subsequent work stoppage. Support scoping meetings and JHA reviews. Receive and follow through on infirmary notices. Field contact for technical & logistical questions related to implementation of acceptable safety standards. Review prints for safety concerns. Approach safety with PtD (prevention through design) Coordinate the confined space written program & equipment rooms. Teach safety orientations for personnel and for contractors. Train others in safety management. Perform shop and fire audits. Confirm compliance with the storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) Equipment operator evaluations. Helped develop our branch Crane & Rigging policies and procedures and perform annual reviews to industry updates. Develop site safety plans (temporary fire extinguishers, safety boards, evacuation routes, meeting places, site tours with local EMTs and Fire Department.) Coordinate annual refreshers for multiple EHS programs. Actively work with contractors and personnel to maintain a safety conscience attitude. Review safety audit reports with the owners, project managers and contractors and address safety concerns. Avid in LEAN management. Produce a monthly synopsis to be reviewed at appropriate meetings.
Owned and operated a successful contracting company in the Ohio Valley and Greater Pittsburgh, PA areas. Our projects ranged from working on small projects, custom homes (ranging from 3,500 sq. ft. to 26,000 sq. ft.), dental offices, hotels, and other various commercial buildings. We were able to secure the contract for the paint install services for the largest producing Home Depot stores in the Pittsburgh area (Robinson Towne Center and North Hills). We also did work for K. Hovnavian homes in the Ohio Valley. I supervised 40 workers with this business.
