A student who aspires to be a surgeon for the US Army, with a focus of Pediatric and Trauma surgery. Currently, I am completing my Master's of Science in Medical Science for Baylor University while simultaneously managing roles as a US Army Medical Department Commission Officer, a clinical research assistant with a research focus on migraines and Alzheimer's Disease drug trials, and a ER attendant for Huntsville Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department. I have completed 6 years of services, which include my time within the 465th Engineering Company and the 75th Field Hospital.
· Examined pediatric patient-parent interactions and assessing well-being for over +500 patients. · Examined electrocardiograms, respiratory panels, and labs for over +500 patients. In response to delivering emergent care.
· Examined soldiers’ competencies within a joint division “Best Warrior Competition” that involved numerous medical Army units, resulting in the participation of over 30 soldiers completing a series of training events. Additionally, coordinated with senior leadership over the logistic layout and planning throughout the event. · Supervise three Army company echelons as the range officer, while delegating actions and communicating with range staff. Overall, examined over 300 soldiers M4A1 rifle range performance and safety.
· Examined patient charts for migraines and Alzheimer’s Disease, resulting in over 300 patients that has been reviewed for eligibility for research drug trials. · Advised the assembly of over five health expos with other community organizations. As a result, over 50 research patients or clinic patients has been recruited/advised, which involve discussing purpose of specific drug trials and criteria for eligibility.
