Apart from my education, I still like to consider myself an eternal autodidact. I prefer free/open source and avoid tasks which are mainly a user interface for a database. My interest ranges from embedded systems, server applications, device drivers, converting between different formats (e.g. help to convert from a word processor to LaTeX), search for flaws in source code, networks, ideas, etc. Currently, I'm interested in modern C++ but I'm also using shell, ruby etc in hobby projects. I also wrote tools on top of logstash and touched elastic search. I'm willing to relocate to other countries to find new challenges.

Developing features for aXsGUARD and Identifier by using Perl, Bash. The design and C++ (98/03) implementation of a configuration daemon driven via http (ACD) Ruby bindings for LibMVX (lawson), OpenAMQ, a userspace driver with language bindings for a USB device, a module to configure the Apache mod_proxy in Perl, Integrating Adito into an appliance by modifying specialized parts like the user management. studying early revision of Identifier for the development of the Identifier appliance ...
Part of a team of developers for a home gateway (Porta sx76[1/2/3]) with VOIP, based on Linux (Amazon and Danube processors), mainly writing parts using a configuration framework in C++ (98/03) to control the networking features, e.g., DHCP, DNS, Classification and QoS (HTB). A side project resulted into two code generators : one to convert parts of the TR-069 into code and a second one to reduce boilerplate code by generating skeletons via abstract C++ classes. I tested some of the bi-weekly integration builds especially for the basic network connectivity.
Improving the performance of an existing java web application, adding new features to the framework. Set up and maintain the Linux infrastructure (firewall, mail, vpn, dns, dhcp ... ) for the development group. I also trained my successor for the server maintenance.
Helping on extending a J2EE application. Did some exploration on reconnecting to a HA JBossMQ server, after it moved due a fail over. I also implemented proof of concept in splitting the JEE application over multiple servers. At that time support for https had to be limited to the login pages, because of the load it caused. I made a proof of concept to switch between http and https and back.
