Jurgen Goossens primarily analyzes the relation between citizens and public bodies from a (national and comparative) constitutional and administrative law perspective. He focuses on: 1° legal protection of citizens against government and the development of 'responsive administrative law' 2° citizen participation and constitutional change, 3° complexity and hyper-connectivity due to the use of algorithms and distributed technologies by public bodies. Goossens is available for professional trainings, presentations, lectures, keynotes and workshops. Moreover, he has an expertise in communicating scientific research to a broader audience. He leads the interdisciplinary project team CHAIN (Connecting Humankind through Algorithms and Information Networks) which conducts research through the project 'Blockchain in the network society: in search of transparency, trust and legitimacy' (NWO-MVI). The project has been awarded 1 million euros for conducting research into transparent, trustworthy, legitimate applications of blockchain technology by the Dutch government in the complex network society. The project is financed by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) as well as a consortium of five public and seven private parties.
