I am a would-be architect turned artist. I am the Artistic Director and sole Artist in Residence at the studio, Big Massive, that was founded by me. My work is to redesign interior- and exterior spaces - with emphasis being extensively placed on elaborate painting as medium. I am a graduate with a Masters in Architecture to my name. For my first job, I was a newspaper delivery boy for 10 years โ every morning I read the newspaper and got in one hour of exercise. In my second job I was a waiter and occasional bartender at a restaurant. I have been self-employed since. The first year after I concluded my studies, I became an artist based in Bloemfontein's CBD. the City of Bloemfontein had never had an urban street artist who attempted to uplift its inner city, so I started renovating derelict buildings with giant painted murals. It worked! People began to take note; the issue right now is that I am limited in my powers to direct this company to even greater prosperity and I am actively looking for a mentor to coach me in business in the creative entrepreneurial space. I am looking for a corporate architecture firm to initiate my candidate-ship as a professional architect. I am looking for corporate experience in order to grow my creative upstart. Ultimately, my goal in life is to be an agent of change on a global human-ecological scale: activating urban spaces through art, facilitating a transition to sustainable forms of energy and stimulating a creative economy through these practices.
