Mr. Jung-Hyun Kim is a Regional Partnership Officer at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Regional Office for Africa. He previously served as a Senior Consultant for a KOICA project on women’s economic empowerment in rural Colombia and as Community Lead for Regional and Geopolitical Affairs (Asia-Pacific) at the World Economic Forum in Geneva. He also worked as a Private Sector Partnership Development Specialist at UNDP Viet Nam and as a Liaison Officer at the Green Climate Fund Secretariat, following 13 years of service with Korean local governments (Seoul and Incheon City). He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and National Security from the Yonsei University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Canberra. His professional interests include investment in sustainability, climate action, ESG, renewable energy, and inclusive socioeconomic development.
• Facilitate, support and monitor implementation of the FAO Resource Mobilization Plan (ReAP), the FAO Strategy for Partnerships with Private Sector, Society Organizations, implement. • Organizes and facilitates marketing and outreach activities related to the FAO Strategic Framework and defined priority areas; facilitates and/or support partner meetings, events and outreach campaigns. • Provides catalytic support to resource mobilization for national/sub regional/ regional projects/programmes in the Africa region, including
Identifying FAO PLO (Partnership and Liaison Office) partners and stakeholders in the Republic of Korea, preparing a partnership portfolio of stakeholders, and developing a partnership development strategy in line with FAO corporate strategy. Assisting HQ, RAP, and Country Offices in establishing and strengthening partnerships with governments, private sectors, academia, CSOs, and NGOs for resource mobilization and joint events. Attending and organizing various events to prepare, lead, and promote important FAO flagship initiatives with stakeholders.
Provided advice service on the feasibility study for the 'SDG 5: Women Economic Empowerment Acceleration Initiative for Colombian Women in Rural Areas' project. Assessed the potential for Public and Private Partnership Development in Colombia's PDET (conflict and armed area) area in order to increase women's economic empowerment and ensure women's market participation.
Worked with internal and external stakeholders to build the ‘Must-Have’ engagement in the region, task placed throughout the year at the Forum’s events such as the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos (Davos Forum) and the Regional Summit Supported the Forum to be a trusted platform for the Peace and Reconciliation agenda by ensuring effective community management with Asia Pacific Region expert groups. Managed the Korean Global Future Council (GFC) for the Korean Peninsula Led to identify counterpart’s (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade, SME & Start-up, Health, Science & Tech) economic priorities and made strategy to fulfill their needs. Liaised with the Forum and Ministry Of Science and Technology of Korea and KAIST to establish the Center for 4th Industrial Revolution Policy Center in Korea
