April 2017 - June 2019. Development of polarizable force fields (PQEq) for molecular dynamic simulations and mechanistic analyses (at the density functional theory level) of various reactions including carbon-carbon coupling on Fischer-Tropsch mimics, carbon dioxide fixation in cyclic carbonates, and the interfacial dynamics between lithium metal and ionic liquids. Research conducted with Dr. Saber Naserifar and Prof. William A. Goddard III. August 2018 - June 2019. Experimental and theoretical elucidation of the electronic structure of tetracyanonickelate, a well-known inorganic complex with decades of conflicting electronic structure assignments. Research conducted with Prof. Harry Gray. April 2016 - April 2017. Exploratory investigation into the shock synthesis of quasicrystals, inspired by the natural shock event within the Khatyrka meteorite. Research conducted with Prof. Paul Asimow.
