I'm a journalist turned audiovisual archivist. My deep passion for archiving is driven by my belief that archives are an essential guide for navigating our past and shaping the future. I have a degree in Master in Archives and Records Management from the University of the Philippines (UP), I currently the head of Probe Archives, Board Member of the Society of Filipino Archivists for Film in the Philippines, and a Senior Lecturer at UP School of Library and Information Studies.
As a part-time senior lecturer at the UP School of Library and Information Studies, I specialize on teaching and training undergraduate and master students on archiving and audiovisual archiving.
As a journalist turned audiovisual (AV) archivist, I help media organizations, documentary producers, and cultural institutions preserve, organize, and make their audiovisual archives accessible. By combining my background in investigative journalism, documentary production, and archival expertise, I ensure that audiovisual heritage is safeguarded, accessible, and leveraged to support research, storytelling, and public memory.
The Society of Filipino Archivists for Film (SOFIA) is an NGO composed of individuals from various expertise brought together by the causes to preserve Philippine cinematic heritage and to support the establishment of a national audiovisual archive.
