The Local Education Agency (LEA) Representative provides administrative oversight of Individualized Education Programs (IEP) for preschool early intervention in the City of Philadelphia per Chapter 14 and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requirements. The LEA Representative, determines special education services, supplemental supports, and placements. LEA rep is the primary contact for families of children receiving Early Intervention services and provide ongoing administrative oversight of the implementation of the IEPs for children on their caseload.
Special instruction services focus on all areas of development. This includes cognitive, social/emotional, language, physical development, and self help. Special instructors provide assessments and on-going services while consulting with various member of the child’s team. This service is provided in the home and throughout the community.
