Florida Focus News is an application-only collaboration between USF and WEDQ to tell impactful, solutions-based news stories that affect the Tampa Bay community. I report and anchor for this news show that airs daily on Tampa's PBS affiliate, WEDQ, in America's 13th largest media market. Responsibilities include: *Pitching engaging stories for news of the day on a variety of different topics *Conducting interviews in person and remotely *Shooting, writing, and editing VOs, VOSOTs and PKGs on deadline *Reviewing scripts and show content *Creating graphics *Submitting completed shows for air
*Wrote VO’s and VOSOT’s that aired in America’s 13th largest media market *Shadowed and assisted reporters with daily stories out in the field *Shot, wrote, and edited PKGs *Shot look-lives and stand-ups *Worked hands-on with producers, assignment desk, and control room to assist with tasks
*Coordinated with news professionals and USF instructors to host workshops for students *Worked with my officers weekly to hold meetings and events related to journalism *Organized tours and internship opportunities for students *Created social media
*Edited news packages and VO’s that aired in America’s 13th largest media market *Wrote, shot, and edited alongside reporters *Shot, wrote, and edited PKGs *Researched and pitched engaging stories for news of the day *Shadowed reporters, anchors, producers, assignment desk, and master control to learn all aspects of a newsroom
