After acquiring the accredited profession of Computer Science Expert in System Integration, I continued to work as a part time Analyst to support the digital transformation at Siemens. A major project involved the extension and optimization of an implemented R-Shiny Web application for credit risk stress tests. Depending on the final user and division, different requirements needed to be implemented on the backend to correctly assess the underlying numbers. This application decreased possible human errors and simplified the process leading to a productivity increase of roughly 15 to 20%. At another team, the transition between data visualization platforms to snowflake and tableau needed to be reworked. By analyzing and rewriting the old SQL-Dialect, old queries were recycled to analyze generated data on a daily basis. The final project involved the practical implementation of my bachelors thesis regarding Predictive Analytics approaches to the short term forecast of the interest income.
As a dual student at Siemens Financial Services I influenced several internal divisions in their pursuit of digital transformation through small scale use-case specific projects. Repetitive Tasks were automated by using Knime-Automation as well as the PowerApps Plattform (PowerApps, PowerAutomate) from Microsoft. A major project involved the consolidation of several different excel-files on a monthly basis. Through a Knime Workflow the required time decreased by roughly 20 to 25 %. Daily tasks involved data visualization based on certain requirements whether to present results or analyze irregularities through Tableau.
By teaching students on different skill levels on this subject, several soft skills were required to ensure a smooth lesson. Flexible changes of courses, conflict management and communication with customers were a daily occurrence, whether on the slopes or at the parking lot.
