I have served in various financial roles across the IT industry in international companies and acquired experience in management, administration, business support, accounting and financial analysis. Having worked in both commercial and non-profit sectors, I am familiar with the challenges of pursuing a non-profit mission as well as the corporate goals of a company. Professionally, I have an accountancy degree from NUS and an MBA from Monash University, together with more than 10 years of managerial experience in multinational companies, working closely with colleagues based across the world on regional issues and projects.
Set up of finance operations in Singapore/ Australia offices. Migrated manual finance processes to Oracle Financials, and manage organization change to align with global finance operational requirements. Growth in the Asia-Pacific office from 15 staff to currently 60 staff with 6 finance staff. Business and finance partner to Regional Director. Ensure statutory compliance with Singapore/Australia/Swiss laws and charity regulations. Change in roles from general finance to frontoffice.
Set up of finance operations in Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan sales offices. Responsibilities include order processing, trade documents, revenue recognition policies, export control compliance, and computation of commissions for software sales, consulting services and maintenance income streams. Business support including contract negotiations. Corporate secretarial and audit responsibilities for all entities under RHQ.
Joined as Senior Financial Analyst (Asia region) under Tandem Computers International Inc. Collaborated with country managers to report monthly forecasts, target measurements, cost controls and annual budgets. Promoted to Operations Manager (Singapore/Indonesia) - acting as business partner to Country Manager in export control and revenue recognition matters, project bids, monthly forecasts and annual budget. Ensure alignments with changes resulting from acquisition of Tandem by Digital Equipment Computers, and subsequently by Compaq Computers.
Variance reporting, budgeting, monthly forecasting, fixed assets management, local treasury, cost analysis of products manufactured in Singapore/ Batam/Mexico plants
