Julian Owen, a chartered architect, runs a practice in the East Midlands. He a director of ASBA architects, a national network he formed in 1992. He has been a representative on the national council of the RIBA, chairman of the Nottingham and Derby Society branch of the RIBA and Chair of the RIBA East Midland Region. He also chaired the East Midlands Construction Industry Council for 5 years, which he helped to set up in 2003. As well as writing magazine articles, he has written books for consumers on house design, home alterations and timber frame construction. For 15 years he has delivered talks and seminars at national home improvement shows in London and Birmingham on topics such as house design, home renovation and working with architects.
