My favourite quote is from W Edwards Deming ...“A company could put a top man at every position and be swallowed by a competitor with people only half as good, but who are working together.” When I first saw this I was surprised - as a young engineer I was used to scientists inventing formulae but the more experience I gained the more I realised this was brilliant insight into what actually makes things work well.
