Based in London, DARC works across scales, from beautifully crafted retrofit projects to major tech facilities and estate-wide design strategies. Clients include King’s College London, The Institute of Cancer Research, University of London and University of Nicosia. Julian is one of the UK's leading Science & Technology Architects. He's been working with world leading Universities, Tech Companies and Research Institutes for over two decades, designing elegantly functional buildings including the £35m National Graphene Institute for the University of Manchester, £50m Mountbatten Building at the University of Southampton, and the £214m Ray Dolby Centre for the Cavendish Laboratory, the largest project ever built by the University of Cambridge. His wider portfolio includes the £20m One Aldwych and £30m Aloft hotels, £13m Timber Wharf affordable housing and £4m Allied Irish Bank in London, the Centre for Advanced Studies in Cuba, and hyperscale data centre campuses in Finland and the Netherlands for a global tech company. Passionate about architecture, urbanism and education, Julian is a member of the University Design Forum, and an assessor on the RIBA’s School of Architecture Validation Panel.
