Genetic, biochemical and structural characterization of a new family of hormone receptor proteins, and their role in the hormone signalling cascade.
Internship at the High Throughput Crystallization lab. Research group of Jose Antonio Márquez. Crystallization studies of one of the receptor members alone and in complex with the hormone. Elucidation of the molecular mechanisms underlying signal transduction of the pathway. Identification of the key functional groups to activate the receptor by the hormone, with potential biotechnological application to the design of novel molecules mimicking its effect.
