As a Partner at SOM, Julia Murphy is a North American Market Leader focusing on large-scale mixed-use projects. Julia has lead multi-disciplinary teams on a range of high-profile, complex projects including Manhattan West, one of the largest ongoing mixed-use projects in Manhattan. She is leading SOM’s team on a new 1,000,000 sf media headquarters in Manhattan, the re-positioning of a global financial headquarters, Avalon Bay’s Park Loggia on West 61st Street, and Toll Brother’s 91 Leonard Street. A third generation architect, she was featured in Architect Magazine’s feature piece, “Workers in Progress.” Murphy is a member of the WX Women Executives in Real Estate and is past Chair of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation.
