Recent graduate of Northeastern University's Earth and Environmental Sciences Bachelor's program. Extensive research experience with an emphasis on urban ecological restoration. Expertise includes field work, lab work, and office work. Passionate about environmental protection, sustainable living, and climate justice.
Planned, executed, and recruited 44 volunteers for two self-led habitat restoration events that planted 722 native willow trees along the San Diego River, in partnership with Lakeside’s River Park Conservancy. Engaged with over 2400 community members across a variety of programs and public-facing events. Managed volunteers in planting 1000 trees and 180 native plants. Coordinated and delivered educational programs to over 200 children and adults, resulting in 104 adults graduating from the Treejectory+ Arborist Training Program with completion certificates.
Responsible for ensuring perfection in the timing and quality of hundreds of food dishes each night. Communicated with chefs, line cooks, managers, and servers to prioritize and expedite food preparation.
Worked on a team taking food/drink orders, serving food/drinks, and bussing tables plus opening/closing duties. Assisted customers with reservations and seating using the Rezi app, in addition to fulfilling takeout orders.
Assisted in the Bowen Microbial Ecosystems Ecology Lab. Worked in a team implementing a field experiment studying carbon cycling in salt marsh soil microbes–collected 108 soil samples and 108 plant samples, contributing data for publication in a research paper. Created GIS shapefiles and spreadsheets of >500 addresses in proximity to waterways, for research surveying. Extracted, amplified, quantified, and analyzed DNA from soil samples for plant kin recognition experiment. Presented findings (in PowerPoint format) to the marine science research community as part of a symposium. Managed & carried out a complete chemical inventory of the Bowen Microbial Ecosystems Ecology Laboratory.
Analyzed 5 months worth of daily data reports from 28 individual trash/recycling collection locations across campus. Used Excel to streamline the digitization of trash/recycling output data and create graphs for official use. Researched, designed, and placed informational posters in dormitories.
Led & participated in over two dozen meetings with staff and student groups to promote sustainability initiatives. Assisted in sustainability-related events/campaigns, topics incl. recycling, clean energy, nutrition, public health. Created spreadsheets of MBE/WBE caterers in Boston, sustainability certifications, student groups, and more. - Outcomes: education of the public, spreadsheets utilized by University officials, and a clothing drive - Awarded Certificate of Completion, with acknowledgment “for teamwork and exemplary performance”
