Juha-Pekka Mikkola is a Scandinavian actor, theatre director and voice talent. He has an MA in acting from The University of Tampere. Mikkola has acted well over 100 roles on stage and appeared in 60 film and TV productions, both commercial and independent, full lenght and short. He has directed and adapted 15 plays, including the hugely successful "1827 Infernal Musical" heavy metal extravaganza for the Turku Culture Capital 2011, and more recently an acclaimed outdoor musical adaptation of "The Treasure Island" as well as the popular two-woman show "Beige tappaa" (Beige Kills). In the summer of 2017 he directed a large-scale production based on Rölli, a classic Finnish troll character. Since 2003 Mikkola has done numerous gigs with various comedy characters, most notably his Estonian adult puppeteer Kullervo Kärp. In 2011 he was given the Western Finland Critics' Award, emphasizing his versatility. "Mikkola is equally at home in great tragic roles as in TV drama."
