I was responsible for the engineering and maintenance of the Linux platform of Swisscom which is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. I was also part of a team that engineers projects in the outsourcing business, as well as building a cloud platform where customers can order IT outsourcing products.
I worked as a system engineer in the field of middleware, taking care of implementing customer projects using various middleware technologies such as JBoss, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, IBM Websphere Application Server, Oracle Weblogic and several others.
As a UNIX system engineer, I took care about designing and building highly available server systems based on the Linux, HP-UX and Solaris operating systems. We also maintained a 7x24 organization to ensure a smooth operation at all times. This job also involved operation and maintenance of a TIBCO based enterprise service bus.
