ComicAsia publishes original stories for a worldwide audience while building a fan platform where readers can step into comic worlds. Our technology initiative, ICE (Immersive Comics Experience), transforms comic panels into interactive story experiences. Readers can insert themselves into the story as one of the characters, seeing their own face and hearing their own voice as the adventure unfolds around them. They can then share those moments of glory on video with friends on platforms like TikTok. A visual ICE concept demo can be viewed at iceapp.ai. ComicAsia is an IPHatch Asia 2025 winner and owner of two Panasonic UI/UX patents (US 8,549,431 and US 9,438,651), forming the technical foundation of the ICE platform. Our first graphic novel, Dracula Rising Sun, successfully debuted at L.A. Comic Con. A video game teaser for the property was produced by award-winning game development studio Taktyl Studios. The graphic novel features artwork by Roy Allan Martinez, an internationally published Filipino comics artist whose work includes titles for major publishers such as Marvel and DC. ComicAsia’s founding team also includes John Felix Zamar, co-founder of Komikon, one of Southeast Asia’s leading comic conventions. We are currently developing our second graphic novel, Astral Warrior, while continuing to expand the ComicAsia platform and its growing slate of original and partner titles. Prior to pivoting to comics, our team built a working prototype of a streaming platform for Asian film and television called APIX, demonstrating early audience demand for Asian entertainment in North America. ComicAsia’s long-term vision is a platform where artists can easily and efficiently create immersive comic worlds. Through ICE, fans can place themselves into those scenes as characters, bringing cosplay into comic worlds and sharing those moments with friends.
APIX will be the leading online digital provider of Eastern Asian entertainment to millions of viewers living in North & South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Oceania. *** (APIX has pivoted to focus on the Eastern Asian comic universe as ComicAsia. The streaming platform prototype we built on apix.tv will be used as a model for the ComicAsia platform.) APIX was accepted by the Startup Course's Hyper Accelerator Program for its September 2020 Cohort. Considered by many to be the #1 Virtual Startup Accelerator, teams that have been enrolled in this 100-day course have raised more than $1 Billion for their ventures.
