Joined the Cloud Billing Metering team to work in the modernization and migration to a service based architecture that is able to scale horizontally to meet Mongo's billing demand.
Responsibilities: - Event-Processing Development: Build and maintain applications focusing on latency, correctness, and stability. - Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-effective redesigns for applications. System Design: Guide teams in technical trade-offs and architectural decisions. - Infrastructure Management: Develop and maintain internal platforms and Kubernetes-based services. Key Tasks: - Designed and implemented a redesign that reduced costs by 8x while ensuring team alignment. - Developed a new Flink service from scratch, enabling rapid iteration. - Created a Kubernetes Operator for the internal platform. - Migrated Flink infrastructure to improve scalability and reliability. - Developed Java SDK for alerting proof of concept.
