Oversee the clinic's operations and supervise law students on immigration cases. The Immigration Law Clinic provides representation with affirmative filings as well as in removal proceedings. The Immigration Law Clinic partners with local community organizations to connect with clients and provide vital information to the community.
Teach Lawyering, a year-long experiential course introducing first-year students to legal analysis, research, writing, client counseling, and negotiation. Research and write on administrative law, immigration law, and civil rights.
Investigated, filed, and litigated civil liberties and civil rights cases in federal and state courts on a range of issues. Conducted legal research, drafted complaints, identified plaintiffs, reviewed discovery, and managed litigation before both trial and appellate courts. Conducted community outreach and supervised law students and volunteer attorneys.
Designed and taught clinic seminars in collaboration with the Immigration Law Clinic Director. Supervised student clinicians with casework and clinic projects serving the non-citizen client population. Directly represented both detained and non-detained clients before the Executive Office of Immigration Review and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Develop, and managed the clinic docket in consultation with the Director.
Developed and litigated cases at the trial and appellate level in both state and federal courts. Conducted factual and legal research, prepare memoranda, drafted Freedom of Information Act requests, wrote demand letters, draft pleadings and briefs, conducted discovery, and assisted in writing appellate and amicus briefs. Developed and disseminated materials related to advocacy campaigns as well as conducted Know Your Rights presentations.
