AutoRentals.com is a leader in the car rental aggregation space, handling both external redirect partners (CPC) and direct booking partners (Rev Share). We work with suppliers and partners throughout the rental car ecosystem, including Expedia, Priceline, Turo, Enterprise, Hertz and Avis. • Manage a team of 11, including backend Java developers, frontend React developers, QA, Graphic Design and Product Owners. • Migrated to Jira for project management and introduced a number of automations for project and task intake. • Turned around a declining mobile experience with a major redesign and performance enhancements that resulted in positive mobile margin for the company for the first time since 2019. • Improved overall team efficiency, going from 10-15 releases per month to over 70 per month. • Oversaw the migration to Google Cloud Platform with a Kubernetes cluster. • Improved site uptime to 99.999% • Worked with external partners and vendors to negotiate contracts and implement projects.
NDM Hospitality is a multi-faceted organization that manages the distribution, marketing and lifecycle of its partner properties around the world. I joined the organization as they were beginning the expand the IT team. There were not many processes in place, especially around software development and they were looking for someone to take on multiple enterprise projects while building the team and putting processes in place. Within the first three months, I was able to turn around a large, highly visible project that had been underway for over a year but failed. • Introduced a new dev ops process for onsite, onshore and offshore teams built with pipelines in Azure DevOps. • Introduced a formal QA process. • Designed and implemented a new cloud-based set of environments that supported the new dev ops processes. • Formalized and standardized the creation of user stories and tasks. • Managed 5 simultaneous large-scale projects, all at different states of progress with different dev/qa teams. • Turned around a struggling onshore dev team that had been poorly managed and got the project back on track, while reducing the budget. • Standardized coding practices around the organization standard MERN stack.
Think Agency is a full-service marketing agency with a focus on the building and construction industries. The agency develops deep, long-term relationships with its clients but over the years had fallen behind in delivering tech projects. When I arrived, I found a talented team that was struggling to keep up with the work. They often delivered projects many months late and with poor quality. I was charged with bringing processes online to bring order to the chaos and to get the agency caught up on its extensive tech debt. • Ran discovery and training sessions for clients. • Restructured the development team to align with client expectations on deliverables and quality. • Incorporated a hybrid in-house/offshore model in order to scale during peak development periods and to minimize cost. • Designed, built and launched a custom, enterprise class CRM platform for a client and a custom Ecommerce platform for another client. These projects marked the first time the agency delivered major projects on-time and on-budget. • Built framework to consolidate the agency’s multiple custom CMS platforms into one platform, creating efficiencies for support and maintenance. • Completed programming on the agency’s extensive tech debt, which dated back more than three years. • Designed, formalized and socialized new development and QA processes. Prior to this the agency had no formal process. • All this resulted in an 85% increase of new projects being completed on-time and on-budget. • Migrated multiple clients to AWS.
