1. Currently directing (Interim program direction) the enterprise-wide migration from Workday to SAP SuccessFactors as part of a strategic HR and IT transformation initiative. • Mentoring, Training, providing feedback to Payroll staff. • Overseeing Benefit plan deductions, retro adjustments to the deductions and running additional reports to ensure the deductions are deducted correctly and balance with our financial reports. Played an instrumental role while implementing SHAW CHOICES Benefits plan. • Overseeing Garnishments and Maintenance orders to ensure these are timely entered and accurately processed for a timely payment to CRA, FMEP, Court of Queen’s bench etc. • Performing all the Year-end processes including complex year-end off cycle adjustments, over-payment clearing, recording the taxable benefits, recording stock option benefits etc.
• Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll, both union and non-union, which includes processing hires, position transfers, terminations, salary changes, title changes, GL changes, setting up voluntary and involuntary contributions for all the employees across Canada. • Liaise with various Human Resources internal teams such as Disability Management, Compensation, Benefits and Legal teams to process the short term disability, WCB and settlement payments in an efficient and timely manner. • Completing all the year-end items to ensure timely preparation of T-4s, T4As, T5s. • Working with different union groups and developing great knowledge of negotiations, arbitration, implementation of negotiated changes. • Undertook monthly reconciliation for BC Med, Clothing allowance and Car allowances for Unionized employees.
• Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the bi-weekly payroll for all the employees across Canada • Full Cycle Payroll including accounting Journal Entries, Reconciliation, Remittances and Year end processes. • Reconcile payroll accounts for month end and year-end, also reviewing all the financial statements and rectifying the errors • Assist in Human Resource activities, completing a full variance reports from monthly and quarterly fiscal results. • All the activities related to Year-End which includes preparation of T4s, T4As and T-2200s. • Helping Corporate accounting team with the Payroll accruals, prepaid and reconciliation of all Payroll accounts.
