Hey! I'm João Pedro and I'm currently working at CEiiA as a Mechanical Space Systems Engineer. My love for Space was the utmost reason to pursuit an Aerospace Double Degree. My interests in the field of engineering include Computational Mechanics, Dynamic Analysis and Aerospace Structures. I'm also a musician and a bookworm.
- Working on the design of the two first Very-High Resolution (VHR) optical Earth Observation (EO) satellites of the Atlantic Constellation - Portugal's most ambitious Space Programme. - Main responsibilities: Monitoring the FEM and Mechanical Analysis: shock and random vibration analysis; structural re-design; demisability and viscoelasticity analysis. - Developed a variety of projects across other areas such as Mission ConOps, Power Analysis, Ground Segment Interface and Thermal Analysis. - Mechanical Internship Supervisor: supervising three university students over a three-week period.
- Estimated the external acoustic pressure levels generated by microlaunchers during lift-off. - Assessed the acoustic transmission onto the fairing to understand air cavity resonance (coupling fluid-structure) - modal and acoustic analysis. - Designed fairing acoustic protections to understand acoustic damping.
Evaluated and compared performances of various multi-impulse transfer orbits between two orbits of the Near-Rectilinear Halo Orbits Family using Multiple Shooting Algorithm.
Debater in the FDA Competition, having reached the Finals at the Assemblée Nationale: developed technical argumentation skills, teamwork and captivating communication.
- Wrote three space related articles for Revista Aeroespacial nº 15, nº 16 and nº 17. - Co-interviewer on the "Aeropod" podcast.
- Assist AeroTéc in its endeavours of developing activities related to the Aerospace Sector.
- Manufactured and tested the glass-fiber fuselage of Aurora 3.0 rocket. - Designed and analyzed with FEM one section of the carbon-fiber fuselage of the rocket that participated in EuRoc 2021.
