Founder & SPM Tutor JW Science & SPM Academy March 2026 – Present How to Join Spm Academy? Whatsapp - 60-174991353 Why did I start tutoring? After completing SPM, I wanted to share the study methods and examination strategies that helped me throughout my secondary school journey. Tutoring has also given me an opportunity to continue learning by helping others learn. What subjects do I teach? SPM Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Additional Mathematics, Mathematics, Chinese Language, and English Language. Who are my students? Students from SMK, SMJK, and Independent Chinese Schools, particularly Form 4 and Form 5 students preparing for SPM. What is my teaching approach? I believe that improvement comes from actively solving questions rather than repeatedly rereading notes. As a result, my lessons focus heavily on SPM Trial Papers and Past Year Questions. What happens during a lesson? Students work through objective and subjective questions, followed by discussion, revision, and short quizzes designed to strengthen understanding and retention. What materials do I use? Rather than creating my own modules, I primarily use SPM Trial Papers and Past Year Papers. My goal is to help students gain exposure to a wide range of examination questions before sitting for SPM. What have I learned from tutoring? Tutoring has taught me how to communicate complex ideas more clearly, identify different learning needs, and develop practical ways to improve students' understanding and memorisation. What impact do I hope to create? I hope to help students become independent learners rather than rely solely on a tutor. Beyond improving examination performance, I aim to share study habits, revision strategies, and problem-solving approaches that students can continue applying throughout their academic journey. My goal is for students to learn how to learn, so they can adapt confidently to future challenges in pre-university and university studies.
