My name is Joshua Yu, I am 22 years of age. I graduated with my HSC certificate (2021) from St Gregory’s College Campbelltown, also having attained a Certificate 3 in Fitness and Retail Services. I now attend the University of Wollongong studying a Bachelor of Exercise Science and Rehabilitation. During this degree I have also received a Diploma in Medical and Health Sciences whilst maintaining an average High Distinction rate across all subjects (>85%). My interests and goals are to become a Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach/Director of High Performance within the athletic sector of professional sport. My commitment and passion towards learning how I can become the best in the field, are evident based on the opportunities I have gone after. Multiple unpaid internships across several months have allowed me to learn under some of the best Strength and Conditioning Coaches within the industry. This work ethic, accompanied with my academic results have placed me in a position for more qualified opportunities through the university and connections made. I have since found success with both private sector athletes at Athletes Authority, Sydney Wests High Performance and BaiMed Performance Center and within professional sporting teams such as the NBL Illawarra Hawks, NRL St George Illawarra Dragons, Illawarra Steelers and my current lead positions at the Wests Tigers as the Head of Elite Academy (U21s) Strength and Conditioning and Lead SG Ball (U18s) Strength and Conditioning Coach and Head of Strength and Conditioning across all three Colts (U20s) grade squads for Randwick District Rugby Union.
