Having 2 years of professional experience as an architectural assistant in Malaysia, I was involved in various projects ranging from mixed developments to private institutions. For me, an architect is not just a great designer but rather a good problem solver. That is what I am striving to achieve in my professional career as an architect. During my time at Brookes, I had the honour of joining two studios which I selected as first choice: My first year specialisation IARD introduces the theory of regeneration projects through precedents and challenges us to integrate what we have learnt in our studio projects. My second year studio DS2 (future craft) focuses on parametric designs and inspires the process of our design development through making and crafting. These two topics have developed from interests to a passion of mine and I can't wait to see where it would lead me to.
Conducting preliminary studies of proposed projects. Producing drafts, prototypes and engaging design solutions. Create and present visual electronic sales tools such as 2D & 3D drawings, call outs and renderings for presentations. Assisting in improving business proposals design and marketing material (graphic design).
Serving customers at the till, handling transactions and making sure till looks presentable and clean. Assist in receiving, storing, and stocking of products while ensuring proper product rotation and quality.
I assist project architects handle residentials, apartments, commercial lots and mixed development projects. I prepare drawings for tender, construction and authority submissions and also liaise with developers, consultants, suppliers and local authorities. I also attend client-consultant meetings, site meetings and participate in technical and design discussions. Occasionally, I also inspect buildings prior to handover.
