Springfield, Tennessee, United States
I have dedicated my career to the pupil transportation industry, a passion that began early and has guided my professional journey for more than two decades. I entered the field at age 19, starting in a special education classroom, and steadily advanced through the ranks of school transportation, serving in nearly every operational and leadership role. I became a school bus driver at 21 and was appointed Transportation Director in January 2011, beginning a long tenure in transportation leadership. Throughout my career, I have been honored to receive the RISE Award and the School Transportation Administrator of the Year Award, and I hold national certification as a Director of Transportation. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Chris Causey and many other mentors and colleagues who have supported and challenged me along the way. Today, I am privileged to serve as State Director of Student Transportation, following in the footsteps of a true transportation legend, Dr. Ernest Farmer. I remain committed to advancing safe, efficient, and student-centered transportation, and I proudly consider myself a lifelong advocate for the yellow school bus.

I was responsible for the safe and reliable transportation services for 13,000 students. Additionally, I was responsible for a multi-million dollar budget and have 230 employees who worked under my leadership. We had a total fleet of 201 buses, a service department of 7 technicians, and an administrative office consisting of 7 staff and we worked tirelessly to ensure that we were providing exceptional customer service to our students, parents, and members of the community at large. We maintained an exceptional training program, had two 3rd Party CDL Examiners on staff (including myself), and worked hard to live by the motto: "Where we go one, we go all". This was one of the best experiences of my life!
