The magnitude and Vb gene frequency of T cell responses were also ascertained by flow cytometry. Memory, effector and naive T cell involvement were examined. Leishmania sp. infections were used to determine how regulatory T cells influence pathogenesis. Cytokine responses and cellular infiltrates were characterized in infected tissues to assess specific inflammatory responses.
