Connecting people, projects, markets, and ideas. Twenty years in China. Six years in the Middle East. A decade helping pioneer the global two-wheel EV space. Now, I’m using an 18-month sabbatical to explore what I want to spend the next decade building — at the intersection of energy, mobility, AI, infrastructure, and finance. I’m an entrepreneurial operator with 20+ years of experience scaling ventures from zero to multi-market success, including founding and co-founding startups, raising early-stage capital, and helping drive the international expansion of NIU Technologies from Series A through IPO. At NIU, I helped build one of the world’s first global smart electric mobility brands, leading market entry, GTM strategy, distribution, partnerships, retail expansion, and commercial operations across 50+ countries. That work included building dealer and distributor networks, launching B2B/B2G channels, supporting regulatory and aftersales frameworks, and scaling partnerships across Europe, North America, Latin America, and MENA. What makes my background different is the China-to-global operating lens. I spent two decades inside China’s hyper-competitive technology and mobility ecosystem, where speed, product iteration, software, distribution, and capital move together. I now apply that experience to help companies scale innovation across borders with the urgency and discipline that fast-moving markets demand. To sharpen my next chapter, I recently completed an MBA in Entrepreneurship at Babson College, ranked #1 globally for entrepreneurship, and earned an MA in Sustainable Energy from Johns Hopkins SAIS. That combination has deepened my focus on energy systems, infrastructure finance, AI-enabled business models, and the future of mobility. I thrive in fast-paced environments where strategy meets execution and bold bets become scalable businesses. Ping me if you are building at the intersection of energy, mobility, AI, infrastructure, and finance.
After a decade of building the global operations for NIU, I am now in an advisory role responsible to help guide the executive team at NIU for future growth opportunities in the 50+ NIU operates in.
I transformed the global marketing and sales team from a brand-first mentality to a revenue and growth sales-marketing driven team. We reimagined our growth tactics directly corresponding to 120% y.o.y growth in the e-moto category, and 60% y.o.y growth in micromobility, including an expansion of 40% in retail partner footprint.
I lead the team that built the go-to-market strategy and the eventual commercial operations execution in 50+ countries. Our strategy and execution enabled NIU to have the largest footprint of any smart-mobility company in the world.
NextStep Studio is the evolution of the original online directory and offline start-up advisory and community. As a founding member of the team we developed the original concept and strategy for the most successful entrepreneur networking event and professional workshop offerings in China. I stepped back from an active day-to-day role in 2010, and currently operate as an advisor to the management team and projects managed by the studio.
We kickstarted a footwear design house on the back of Kickstarter.com and became the most funded footwear Kickstarter projects in 2013 and 2014. We leveraged that success to raise $500,000 in Series A funding on top of our $450,000 of Kickstarter funding to launch a global sales network and two brands selling in 20+ countries both online and through regional distributors.
In 2011 our team pioneered the first multi-site daily deal exchange and market maker in China. Our platform was the gateway between Chinese service providers and the 5000+ "Groupon" daily deal websites across China. At our peak our monthly GMV was $3mm. We successfully raised $1.5mm in Series A.
A start-up studio that actively managed a portfolio of early stage companies from 2005 until 2010, including; Lucky Greens Golf, LexDex Mobile Flashcards, and Nextstep Events. My five years managing the consultancy gave me a detailed understanding of the intricacies of foreign direct investment, labor laws, corporate structuring, and tax strategies in China.
