I have been involved in a variety of government and university led social research projects and currently work for the Officer for National Statistics.
Research Officer within the Social Surveys Division
I managed five Youth Offending Teams (YOTs) through the research process. This role constituted collecting and cleaning the YOT data, training the research participants and fixing technical data collection issues. As the research was a mixed methods project, I completed over twenty interviews with YOT staff. This project also highlighted my ability to securely work with highly confidential and sensitive offender data.
A University of Kent funded project, with the field work conducted by Morgan Harris Burrows. My role was to enlist three Youth Offending Teams to take part and then convince caseworkers to fill out the survey. This was completed successfully
This project was Department for Children, Schools and Families funded and required me to contact and telephone interview twenty two managers of Community Support Project’s. I then analysis these interviews and completed a report.
I was commissioned to collect, import, analyse and produce a report on the 2007 first time entrants into the Somerset Youth Offending Team. This incorporated the use of SPSS and strict data protection procedures.
