Responsible for the supply chain of shea in West Africa: managing the supply chain in terms of quantity and quality; taking care of the supply of raw materials by building and maintaining a vast network of suppliers, local processing & storage, inventory management and distribution. Important tasks of the position were also collecting market information, risk management, risk control, efficiency improvements, cost savings and guaranteeing quality. Initiating, developing and coordinating the shea sustainability program. Frequent travelling to West Africa (12-20 weeks/year). Managing 2 country managers in Ghana and Burkina Faso and 2 employees in the Shea Back Office in Wormerveer; indirectly 30 employees in 5 countries in West Africa.
Responsible for the daily operational logistics process of the Wormerveer and Maasvlakte production site with an important focus on efficiency and cost savings. Responsible for contract management of all strategic logistics service providers: road and sea transport, outsourcing partners and external storage. Managing 10 employees in the Transport, Outsourcing & Documentation Department and 4 employees indirectly at the Forwarding Department.
Responsible for all activities of the Shipping Department and for the optimal handling of transport, storage and distribution of end products (cocoa liquor, butter and powder) to customers worldwide. Conducting rate negotiations with shipping companies, external warehouses and carriers, including for several other ADM branches. Responsible for the coordination of contracts, production and shipments of cocoa products from the 'Unicao' cocoa processing in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Managing 7 employees directly and 15 employees indirectly.
