Oversaw projects delivering fiber between regional datacenter clusters, including vendor communication and management, as primary liaison for end-to-end fiber delivery. Established vendor plans and controlled deployment operations, delivering service-ready fiber for Optical Networking Engineers. ▪ Took ownership of full project life cycle, coordinating requests for proposals (RFPs) and engineering design plans (EDPs) with Technical Business Developers and internal Fiber Engineering, contributing heavily to contract and bidding process. ▪ Ensured proper contracting, completion dates, and managed customer expectations in collaboration with Technical Business Developers. Monitored, tracked, and forecasted project delivery dates, supervising performance and timelines in Salesforce. ▪ Point of contact for 3rd party vendor site access, navigating co-location access with datacenter security leadership. ▪ Streamlined cabling standard expectations for vendors, providing input and recommendations for datacenter design from a fiber delivery perspective. ▪ Eased congested conduit pathways utilizing interstitial techniques and Maxcell wrap and maximized conduit usage by placing innerduct alongside standard outside plans (OSP) cabling. ▪ Developed change management documentation and managed approval process for fiber testing, splicing, design, customer handoff, and onsite rack replacement. ▪ Set up vendors’ daily fiber maintenance calendar for safe and expedient splicing activities.
Provided boots-on-the-ground triage response to global outages, mission critical hardware, and networking equipment. Resolved and/or escalated tickets; developed training materials for proprietary technologies. Handled performance testing, loopback testing, VFL, etc. Mitigated device failure, port configuration, broken fiber, and physical and network-related issues. ▪ Brought network-related tickets down 98% at parent site struggling to hit flightpath ticketing metrics due to lack of knowledge and cohesive training. Trained eight Technicians on advanced network troubleshooting, including device configuration on console fabric. ▪ Migrated four major devices to new paths as part of unused fiber reclamation projects in Ashburn, VA, leveraging network topology and troubleshooting skillset. Publicly recognized by Project Manager for timely and effective issue response. ▪ Key Contributor to site deployment in Ashburn; trained four Technicians and mitigated arising issues, including: Resolved console misconfiguration on multiple ports for key network firewall device controlling overall building power and utilities (BMS). Collaborated with Hardware Engineering Team to regenerate systemic PowerShelf design, previously allowing occasional shelf failures that contributed to “rackdowns” (rack failure). Mitigated new host type failures: following lack of response to usual power issue troubleshooting methods, discovered an issue with power shorting and compiled information into report detailing multiple new host types to future-proof.
Maintained and repaired top-of-the-line server hardware and networking equipment within Northern Virginia area data centers. Utilized Linux CLI commands to remediate hardware failures. Replaced major components, including RAM, hard drives, motherboards, etc. Joined forces with Datacenter Networking Professionals to solve complex networking issues. ▪ Maintained second highest weekly resolve numbers within nine weeks at network parent site. ▪ Chosen for relocation to newly deployed site as part of initial network and hardware management team.
