About

I'm an Engineering Manager on Rivian's Self-Driving team, passionate about building industry-breakthrough products that have a lasting, positive impact. With over 10 years in the automotive space, my focus is on leading teams to solve complex challenges by bridging the gap between hardware and software. My career has provided me with a rare, end-to-end view of the automotive industry. My time at Stellantis gave me a deep foundation in both Product Development and Manufacturing, allowing me to understand the entire vehicle lifecycle—from initial concept and design validation to the realities of the factory floor. This broad technical and industry coverage proved invaluable when I joined Rivian as one of the first 100 members of the Autonomy team, where I developed the foundational data collection and prototyping solutions that are the fuel for our physical world AI models. My primary areas of technical contribution and leadership include: Development Vehicle System Architecture: Defining the integration of production sensors, ground truth sensors, ECUs, GPS/IMU, networking equipment, and data acquisition hardware for our data collection fleets. Data Acquisition & Prototyping Solutions: Leading the hardware design and software development for the systems that gather the critical data needed to train and validate our AI models. Time Synchronization: Ensuring precise time-sync between all sensors, ECUs, and metrology devices across distributed systems to guarantee data integrity for model development. Complex System Debugging: Investigating and root-causing multifaceted issues that span hardware and software, from embedded systems and sensor drivers to middleware and networking protocols. Performance Optimization: Identifying and resolving bottlenecks in software and networking to maximize the efficiency and reliability of our data pipelines. I thrive on mentoring engineers and building strong, collaborative teams built on trust and a relentless curiosity to learn. I'm always open to thoughtful discussions about engineering, cloud data pipelines, sustainable energy, and open-source software. Feel free to connect.
