Building privacy-first security tools at the intersection of cryptography, AI, and social impact. Founder of realxreal.ai (deepfake defense through memory-based authentication) and OpenBWC (algorithmic transparency for police AI). Applied mathematician and secure software developer specializing in cryptographic systems that put people first. Core belief: Code is power, but trust is the protocol. The social sciences help technologists understand how what we build impacts people and the world. Interdisciplinary problem-solver. Open-source advocate. Building in community with people who bring different skills, interests, and experiences to undefined problems. Grateful for: Everyone who helped me get here: none of my accomplishments are mine alone.
realxreal is multi-factor authentication for people: the next layer of trust for the internet. realxreal is a trusted Contacts app where each connection is verified through shared memories you’ve lived together.
- Spearheaded OpenBWC, a FOSS project focused on bringing algorithmic transparency to AI and CV used in Police Body-Worn-Camera (BWC) analysis by publishing source code and non-sensitive training data - Led a research team with PI Dr. Ernest Fokoue on a $1 million dollar research grant administered by the DOJ and Rochester Police Department (RPD) - Scraped, cleaned, and stored 3,945 YouTube based Police Body-Cam videos using Python, MongoDB, and OpenAI’s Whisper model - Presented findings to 6 senior officials at the RPD office of Business Intelligence and Rochester Police Union, resulting in an RPD Locust Club research alliance. - Presented findings at the 2024 SIAM conference.
- Designed a probabilistic method for linking 290,000 CVEs from the NVD to 13,000 github FOSS projects - Embedded 13,000 FOSS project names using 9 semantic embedding models via Python/ Ollama and stored results in a WeaviateDB docker instance. - Queried 290,000 CVE/CPE vendor:product combinations against WeaviateDB data and stored in MongoDB - Mined 4,441 FOSS github repositories totaling 786 GB using Pydriller & RIT Research Computing resources - Discovered 47,979 commits contributing to 13,175 CVEs recorded in the National Vulnerability Database (NVD) - Pioneering the first quantitative approach to SZZ algorithms using statistical confidence intervals to measure vulnerability accuracy through a new open source tool: Patch Vulnerability Commit Reconciliation (P-VCR)
- Engineered a diverse dataset of 100,000+ network packets for advanced threat detection via a Neural Network - Constructing a custom network parser that recognizes 9 protocols in the TCP/IP stack using Python - Architecting a 64-feature Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network in Pytorch to analyze network data, aiming to detect DNS covert channels with a 80% accuracy
Aug 2023 – May 2024 As a Resident Advisor, I had the privilege of supporting a diverse community of freshman and upperclassmen while balancing a full-time co-op and multiple part-time jobs. I fostered a welcoming, inclusive environment through deep relationship-building, intentional one-on-one engagement, and community events tailored to residents' interests and goals. I served as a connector—helping residents navigate academic pathways, personal challenges, and campus resources—while also responding to crises and facilitating roommate conflict resolution with empathy and fairness. This role refined my interpersonal communication, crisis management, and leadership skills. I collaborated closely with fellow RAs and professional staff, adapted to remote workflows during co-op, and consistently exceeded expectations in areas like community development, team collaboration, and cultural proficiency. Highlights include mentoring students through career exploration, learning ASL to communicate with my Deaf residents, and facilitating engagement between residents with vastly different backgrounds.
