As the Shop Manager of Fleet Maintenance, I oversee 17 mechanics and the maintenance of all of Ashley Distribution Services equipment. I schedule routine PM’s, manage workload and keep the Advance location as a top performing shop in the Ashley system. I help to set a high standard for repair times and maintain a consistent 95% PM compliance, preventing breakdowns through the Southeast region. I work closely with our Operations team to communicate on downed equipment and estimated repair times, keeping trucks on the road and loads delivered on time.
I was a Lead technician for Ashley Distribution Services before moving into the role of Shop Manager. In this role I performed routine inspections of the shop. Managed workflow while also maintaining equipment. I was also in charge of training new hires in the floor.
As Leadman, I supervised the shop floor and trained new technicians coming in to Pam transport. I also handled drivers and write ups and preformed regular safety inspections in the shop.
As a Senior Technician I preformed major repairs in the shop and showed elite troubleshooting skills. I also maintained a high SRT percentage with no repeat repairs. In 5 years with Schneider I grew as a technician and kept trucks and trailers rolling in and out of the shop. I trained new hires and stayed up to date with the training team on the latest updates from Detroit Diesel and International.
