In 2025, we — together with my partner Paulina — embarked on a life-time’s journey: Tierra del Fuego to Colombia on bikes.🚴♀️🚵🏼♂️🏕️ Since we both lived some times in different regions of Abya Yala (indigenous name for South America) we had the longing to return and experience this incredible continent. Being passionate cyclists and viewing the bike as incremental tool for sustainable mobility we decided to bike South America. Cycling is 🦵🏼Healthy for us as individuals 💚Cycling itself is free of CO2 and other emissions; thus contributing to Planetary Health 🌈 though being more exposed as cyclists — it allows us to be constantly in touch with the local nature, climate, people and cultures surrounding us. We started in Ushuaia Tierra del Fuego, cycled the Chilean and Magellan’s Patagonia, parts of the Argentinian Pampa-Patagonia, the Chilean Carretera Austral, Argentina’s Route of the 7 Lakes, the Chilean Pacific coast up to Valparaiso, crossed the Andes and Misiones in North-East Argentina towards São Paulo in Brazil.
Worked on ecologically and socially sound implementation of renewable energies in Germany and EU focusing on offshore wind, solar energy and geothermal.
