About

Professor in Soil chemistry, SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences). My main research interest is soil and water geochemistry, with an emphasis on process understanding and mathematical modelling. For example, I have been developing the geochemical equilibrium code Visual MINTEQ. In recent years I have been working mostly with metals and phosphorus. Currently I lead and participate in research projects on the following themes: - Metal and phosphorus geochemistry in soils as influenced by reactions at interfaces (Fe (hydr)oxides, allophane/imogolite, organic matter) - Cadmium cycling in agricultural soils Specialties: Geochemical modelling (in particular surface complexation, organic complexation), soil mineralogy, XAFS spectroscopy in soil science. I am also associate editor of Applied Geochemistry.
