I was a Capital Projects and Infrastructure (CP&I) Assistant Lead Evaluator at the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center of the Philippines. I have evaluated numerous proposed PPP projects with a combined cost of over PhP 900B (USD 18B), and have presented the results thereof to the Investment Coordination Committee (ICC), the sole body which approves national CP&Is in the Philippines chaired by Finance and Socioeconomic Planning Secretaries. As a CP&I Evaluator, I ensured that the proposed projects shall address social needs, and shall generate competitive investor returns by assessing the soundness of, among others, projects’ value-for-money, economic and financial viabilities, environmental and social safeguards, proposed undertakings by the Government, and proposed risk allocation. Currently, I am appraising the proposed extension to the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway, a major expressway connecting the capital of the Philippines to northern Luzon. Prior to working in the Government, I was a Senior Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Advisor at Deloitte performing financial due diligence, business valuation, and market sounding. I have advised prominent conglomerates from diverse sectors (e.g., power, financial services, food and beverage, and healthcare) of potential synergies and deal-breakers throughout their M&A life cycle. My dual-degree in Economics and Finance from the De La Salle University and my experience in organizing university-wide projects equipped me with both the analytical/problem-solving and interpersonal skills necessary to navigate the professional world. To further hone my technical knowledge on infrastructure preparation and execution, where my passion lies, I am currently pursuing further studies in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of the Philippines. Advised senior management on whether to proceed with potential M&A opportunities (worth ~USD 1B) and ensured that those opportunities are value-adding to EDC by identifying deal-breakers and potential synergies through commercial due diligence and business valuation Selected experiences: •Performed commercial due diligence and business valuation on an Indonesian geothermal power producer in connection with a potential minority investment •Performed commercial due diligence on a Turkish geothermal, solar, and hydro power producer in connection with a potential 100% stake acquisition •Performed commercial due diligence on a Philippine wind producer with ancillary battery storage in connection with a potential 100% stake acquisition
•Prepared impactful presentation decks for EDC's board of directors as a discussion tool to highlight the highs and lows of the company's performance and to explore possible ways forward. This includes managing in-depth discussions with the different groups within EDC (finance, marketing and contracts, business development, steam production, power generation, and health and safety) •Assisted the different groups within EDC to set their long-term strategy KPIs, to identify key programs and projects that will contribute to achieving said KPIs, and to identify potential front dominos and roadblocks
In addition to evaluating proposed PPP projects, I also: •Manage teams and ensure timely delivery of quality outputs •Mentor new evaluators on how to effectively and efficiently perform their roles

Recommended policies and implementation guidelines on PPPs to address policy gaps, to fast-track the implementation of projects, and to ensure that the value in undertaking PPPs are maximized. Selected experiences: •Performed financial due diligence for the power arm of one of the Philippines' conglomerates in connection with its potential investment in a solar farm corporation •Performed financial due diligence for a multinational independent power producer in connection with its planned investment in a pre-operating biomass energy facility •Performed financial due diligence for a publicly listed bank in connection with its potential merger with a group of financial institutions dealing with life and non-life insurance, pre-need and memorial, and HMO •Performed financial due diligence for a Singapore-based private equity investing in mid-market companies in connection with its potential investment in a flexible workspace and staff leasing provider •Performed financial due diligence and agreed-upon validation for a subsidiary of one of Philippines’ largest diversified conglomerates in connection with its potential acquisition of a group of drug store companies •Performed financial/HR due diligence and business valuation for a private equity firm dedicated to investing in the environmental sector in connection with its potential investment in refrigerated warehousing and inventory management company •Performed fairness opinion on the fair value of a publicly listed real estate company's equity shares in connection with its debt-to-equity conversion transactions •Performed business valuation for a trust arm of a publicly listed investment company in connection with its planned divestment of minority shares in two (2) entities •Performed market sounding, together with Deloitte Japan, for two (2) Japanese multinational companies regarding the Philippines' feasibility as a market for liquefied natural gas in connection with their potential investment in the same sector
•Assisted the Center in developing comprehensive and integrated research resources required for presentation to the Monetary Board (MB) of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to aid in the formulation of monetary and financial policies. •Assessed the macroeconomic effects of the implementation of Basel III in the Philippines and investigated if Philippine banks are indeed more protected against financial stress under the said framework. •Evaluated the spillover mechanisms of inward foreign direct investment to the Philippines, mainly in the manufacturing sector and employment. •Examined the inflation persistence in the Philippines, the speed in which it adjusts back to its long-run trend after a shock, both at a national and regional level, which is aimed at maintaining price stability. •Analyzed the dynamics of spot foreign exchange liquidity in the context of PHP and USD trading using daily, bi-monthly, and monthly data of both level and volatility of the said exchange rates. •Explored the impact of global factors in the formulation of monetary policies in the East-Asia Pacific countries, such as the slowing productivity growth in advanced economies, their unconventional policy spillovers, and changing patterns of capital flows. •Congregated with representatives from Bank of China, Philippine Dealing System, and various BSP departments to discuss the proposed CNH/PHP Foreign Exchange Spot Trading, including its operating frameworks and settlement conventions. •Assembled with representatives from the Daiwa Institute of Research and ASEAN+3 Bond Markets Initiative for the assessment of the current state of the Philippine Bond Market and for the proposals on how to improve the said system. •Gathered with representatives from the Department of Economic Research, Monetary Policy Sub-Sector, Monetary Stability Sector, MB of BSP, and other private institutions and media on the analysis of the causes and effects of inflation for the 4th quarter of 2016 of the Philippines.
