Oversee a global team of 200+ professionals and a $40M annual budget, driving modernization, resilience, and business enablement through security innovation. • Built net-new Cybersecurity organization focused on embedding security-by-design across engineering, architecture, assurance, and cryptography functions. • Expanded headcount by 35% in six months, establishing high-performance teams and scaling cybersecurity capabilities enterprise-wide. • Launched Cyber Risk Reduction, Cybersecurity Assurance, and Enterprise Cryptography programs that strengthened risk governance, regulatory alignment, while eliminating material risk in cyber exposure. • Modernized Identity and Cybersecurity Architecture capabilities to support digital transformation, cloud adoption, and operational scalability to drive Bank-wide consolidation. • Partnered with CISO, CIO, and executive leadership to align security investments with business strategy and begin building readiness for post-quantum cryptography (PQC). • Advocate for a culture of proactive risk management, automation, and measurable security outcomes across all lines of business.
A public bank with 8 billion in revenue with rapid expansion across southeast region. I directed the Identity function within Information Security for both customers and the enterprise, managing over 15 security platforms. I drive holistic Bank and Security transformation by leveraging Identity Security as a catalyst. I own the strategic direction of customer log ins, technology, and strategic architecture. In addition, I managed 8 VPs and Directors and an indirect team of 70. I was tasked with shifting the Identify Program to the next level and report to the CISO. Specifically, I redefined and built the organization, driving trust as a key element and a major part of the bank's brand. Moreover, I hired top talent through my personal professional network and strong industry reputation. I also achieved first time organic executive support for transformation, landing 50M+ for defined technology needs. From this, I consolidated technologies and purchased technologies driving the re-architecture to meet new security standards, creating a much stronger security posture and user experience for all bank apps and log ins. Finally, I promoted the bank's mission at industry public speaking conferences, including FS-ISAC, Oktane, Aite Novarica, Apex Assembly, and GDS Security Summit.
During these three years, I transformed and built the Identity landscape by embedding Identity as a key function during massive business transformation. I also launched and grew the organization to 75 people in 18 months by building out key partnerships, hiring top talent, and increasing the budget 3000% to $40M+, providing change management and driving modern technical approaches. In more detail, I shifted executive understanding and support of Identity from a back-end capability to a critical enterprise security enabler. I managed 7 directs and 70+ indirect reports, delivering IAM services to divest a 35,000-person company in 1.5 years. I also designed and deployed fully automated cloud SSO/MFA infrastructure, facilitating the adoption of 70+ apps. I orchestrated and concurrently launched 14 new Identity systems, transforming the entire landscape across all Authentication, Authorization, Governance, and Operational capabilities. I enrolled 30,000 employees in MFA (multi factor authentication), enabling self-service integration of all applications, saving millions of dollars of manual work. In a few more specifics, I secured 10,000 privileged accounts in 6 months through an innovative rollout. I also enabled a data-center exit strategy by deploying 2 new Active Directories and Virtual Directory services. I cemented access to company data, hardware, and applications by deploying the Venafi management platform to govern P.K.I infrastructure. I also enabled full lifecycle controls across new systems. In another effort, I pushed cross-company authentication strategy enabling access, minimizing risk, and avoiding $1.5M in new spend. Last but not least, I authored a customer engagement strategy for user onboarding to unify adoption of services and migration of 30,000+ users.
