About

John Lambert, Corporate Vice President, Security Fellow, Microsoft Security Research John has been CVP of Microsoft Security Research since September 2022. Lambert leads the consolidated research and intelligence teams for Microsoft Security which encompasses Microsoft Defender, the Defender Experts service, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft 365 Compliance, and the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC). Most recently, Lambert led Microsoft’s threat intelligence efforts in the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center. Lambert founded MSTIC to focus on adversary-based threats to Microsoft and its customers. Before joining Microsoft, Lambert was a Software Engineer with IBM, Sep 1997 - May 2000. A 22-year veteran of the company, Lambert earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Tulane University in New Orleans. Lambert lives in Washington State with his family. When he’s not working, Lambert enjoys hiking, camping, and the great outdoors.
