Responsible for providing HSE input and support to the Well Operations, Completions and Well Testing teams both offshore and onshore. Promoting the use of HSE tools, principles and objectives whilst ensuring the company HSE policies, procedures and standards are communicated so they become an integral component of Well Operations activities. Liaising with Executive Leadership Team, Department Managers, Team Leads, Superintendents, Supervisors and Engineers in order to maintain an effective working relationship and ensure the delivery of both Corporate and Well Operations HSE objectives. Key Accountabilities - Carrying out assigned work with particular emphasis on HSE implementation, performance and improvement. - Performing all duties with due regard to the health and safety of self, others and the environment in which they are undertaken. - Setting up and providing an HSE framework to achieve Well Operations HSE objectives. - Ensuring that Well Operations HSE plans, relevant HSE Management System & Emergency Response documentation are established, implemented and maintained. - Ensuring that all contractor HSE & Q plans are bridged such that clearly communicated and common HSEQ process and procedures are in place. - Liaising with Team Managers to ensure that goals and objectives are set and fully detailed in the procedures for the planned drilling and production activities.
Provide training and coaching for Rig Contractors safety advisors, rig crew and service companies such that: - Compliance requirements are understood for DNO policies and standards. Monitoring of behaviours related to DNO Life Saving Rules and ensuring violations are recorded and dealt with as per procedure. - Focus on behaviours to promote a safety culture with emphasis on the DNO “RICH” initiative. - Safety meetings and service company pre-job safety meetings are routinely held with a focus on risk management. - High risk situations can be identified and documented and a risk mitigation approach taken. - Daily HSSE / Rig inspections are routinely made. - Full and proper application of the DNO PTW system is in place at the rig site. Routine tasks not requiring PTW are fully covered with agreed and signed off operating procedures. - Safety drills are routinely and effectively carried out with lessons learned implemented to ensure continuous improvement. - HSE and non-conformance event investigations are properly conducted and where applicable recorded in Synergi. - Safe lifting practices are fully understood and practiced. - Work closely with the drilling contractor rig management to promote a continuous improvement in HSE standards on site. - Encouraging the drilling contractor to raise their level of the HSE culture on the rig.

Managing the implementation and use of an HSE Management system for a privately owned independent oil and gas exploration company focusing on the Asia-Pacific region. Day to day tasks include: - Develop & implementation of HSE management system on a corporate level - Compile HSEMS, safety cases, bridging, interface and SIMOP’s documentation - Overseeing the implementation and use of the HSE Management System - Provide all HSE input into contracts for all operational areas - HSE Planning for Seismic and Exploration Drilling activities - Developing an HSE culture in all aspects of company business - Ensuring compliance with local legislation in countries of operation - Recruiting for HSE positions with primary focus on nationalisation. - Performance monitoring, recording & analysis for internal, shareholder and regulatory purposes - Chairing performance reviews and periodic contractor HSE meetings - Reviewing HSE performance in each operational location - Undertaking audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE management system - Quality control, analysis, tracking, follow-up and close-out status of all departmental actions raised - Initiate corrective action and performance improvement plans - Network with local & regional operators, contractors, shareholder & regulatory representatives - Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans - Coach and mentor national employees to enhance their HSE awareness, knowledge and skill
